Blogroll and New SL Freebie Blogs

UPDATE: I recall that when I first logged in to SL on Sunday (cant remember which Sunday), my IM messages were capped. I hope that it was the group IMs that are capped, not the personal ones. If those are capped as well, I cant help it.

I updated my blogroll with two blogs.

Peacebella.com
Quoted from the description of her blog: The personal blog of Peace Bella, Peace of Singapore, Peace Botanical In Second Life! Discover more about me and Singapore life. Find out my opinions and thoughts about nature, food, arts, entertainment and more!

EL Vestidor de Julieta
A Spanish SL freebie blog that I love. One does not need to understand Spanish to read the blog.

New SL Freebie Blogs I discovered

Bear Risk

I was reading my accounting notes when I came across the phrase, bear risk. I thought bear risk was a type of risk in relation to the bear market. However, the answer in my mind does not explain what bear risk is. Hence, I went to check the dictionaries (software and hard copy) and the search engines. I found no information about bear risk. Then I reread the sentence “shareholders contribute capital and bear risk”. Wow, I was fooled!

more cat pictures

I really wish Blogger allows bigger pictures to be shown like WordPress.com. Sad...

UPDATE: I change a new templete so that this pic above is shown fully. However, the templete is too plain. Maybe I will change it.

CS Gridwide Hammer Hunt for MEN!

I just got back from the cosmetics workshop. My, Second Life really makes it easier for us girls to put make up. Just put on a skin and that's it. On the other hand, RL makeup - I havent master that yet.

I went back to SL on Sunday. The first thing I did was to categorise my inventory. This is because I couldnt find things that I want easily. At the rate I am going (I am not online all the time), I am not getting out of the changing room any time soon.

As shown in my events column, there is a hunt for men, conducted by many great fashion designer. Go here, get a notecard of the list of locations where the hammers are found. Find a hammer and each one can get hair/jewellery/clothes/skin etc.

I used to desire a male av but I change my mind cos I dont want to lie and I think guys are same as girls. Right?

To have a glimpse of what goodies are in store, check Free*Style blog.

Racial Harmony Day

Today is Racial Harmony Day in my country. So in RL or/and SL, put on your traditional constumes or better still wear costumes from another race, and celebrate this day with us. :)

Panic/ Anxiety disorder

I have a BAD habit of reading blogs almost all the time when i am free. Just now, I came across this blog by Jo, the person behind Creamy Cooljoke of Free*Style. I like her a lot cos she teaches me (and many people) what is considered a good quality stuff and I learn a lot from her dressing style. Anyway, Creamy blogs about her panic/anixiety disorder to let her feelings out and to raise awareness for this disorder. I hope she gets well soon.

My Freebie opinion

This topic is taken from Cen's blog. I have the similar feelings and encounter as Cen. Before I read freebie blogs, my freebies were of low quality and business in box stuff. I do occasionally have found nice freebies made by designers but the freebie bloggers definitely do a better job than me.

The first blog I read was a freebie blog from Fabfree. I love the blog because it is very newbie friendly (I was a newbie then). If the freebie is a group gift-, it will tell you how to join the group step-by-step. I like the fact that it is able to show naked skins after the cut. By viewing naked skins before getting them, I could see for myself whether the skins are worth getting. Although I understand the blog has been critised for blogging low quality freebies, I am happy to say that Fabfree now blogs great freebies!

The next freebie blog that I discover is Free*Style. At first, I do not like it as it has a messy presentation – not as systemic as Fabfree. Soon I fall in love with Free*Style because its bloggers not just blog great freebies but also teaches me how to dress through the way they put together an outfit. My love affair with Free*Style has recently dwindled because the new bloggers wrote lengthy posts and some of them insert the slurls, names of freebies and designers’ names all in sentences which makes it difficult to read. Fortunately, after feedback in chatbox on Free*Style, the situation has vanished. Free*Style apparently isn’t newbie friendly due to its bloggers’ love for wear non-freebies with the freebies and its lack of step-by-step instructions of how to find a group. Hence, I wouldn’t introduce this website to newbies that are like 1 week old etc.

I also browse through other freebie blogs and find some of them interesting as well. Now, for the sake of my inventory and precious time, I hunt for less freebies and hence spend less time reading freebie blogs. Nevertheless, thanks and kudos to the designers and freebie bloggers! :)

Do I blog because I am shy?

This topic is taken from Alicia's blog. I don’t blog because I am shy. I blog so that I can meet more people and make more friends. Am I shy? Yes and no. I was shy since I was a kid. However, as I grow up and have friends, I become less shy. By the time I study in a tertiary institution, I understand one has to talk to communicate, to network etc. Being shy will make one a loner and I don’t want to be a loner. Hence, I tend to talk more now. However, I still find it hard to approach people that I don’t know, both in SL and RL. I also find it hard to IM people, even those from my friends list. If I IM my friends, it is probably for a purpose e.g. tell her there is a free couple pose.

red ice
P.S. I have been finding ways to sign off and I think "red ice" is the current best way of signing off. I notice that I type a lot better when I am using Micrsoft Word rather when I am using Blogger. Hence I will continue to type my entry in MS Word and then copy and paste to Blogger.
